38-jarige PDC speler is afgelopen vrijdag plotseling overleden

Drie weken geleden wist hij nog de kwartfinale te halen op de Challenge Tour 7 maar gisterenavond kwam het tragisch nieuws dat James Barton plotseling is overleden.

Hij is slecht 38 jaar oud geworden en de doodsoorzaak is op dit moment nog niet bekend. Hij is 15 jaar lang actief geweest bij de PDC en wist tijdens de UK Open 2004 de laatste 64 te halen.

Vrienden en collega's reageren geschokt, waaronder Joe Cullen die jarenlang met hem is opgetrokken en kamergenoot was sinds het begin van zijn carrière.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of James Barton at the age of 38. Barton competed in the UK Open four times between 2004 and 2009 and also reached the Quarter-Finals of a Challenge Tour event last month. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Absolutely devastated to answer the phone this morning to the news that my friend James Barton ‘odd job’ has passed away suddenly last night. 38 is no age at all. He was my roommate when I first started playing. Horrible news!! Will miss you mate!! 🍻
