Dartswereld reageert geschokt op het overlijden van Phil Nixon

Ondanks het feit dat het bekend was dat Phil Nixon getroffen was door long-, lever- en maagkanker was het voor velen toch een grote schok toen vanmorgen bekend werd dat de runner-up van de Lakeside 2007 afgelopen nacht zijn laatste adem heeft uitgeblazen. Op de social media wordt volop steun betuigt aan vrienden, familie en in het bijzonder Suzanne, de vrouw van Phil. Natuurlijk komen er ook veel reacties vanuit de dartswereld.

Facebook is full of condolences to Phil Nixon , just shows how many friends the gentleman had . Me especially 1 of them . First ever man to take me under his wing when I started the bdo , well Phil no more pain now pal . Get practicing up there for when we all meet again . Zojuist het bericht gekregen dat Darts speler Phil Nixon is overleden. Phil speelde de finale van The Lakeside tegen Martin Adams kwam 6-0 in sets achter en kwam terug tot 6-6 iets wat erg uniek is in de darts sport hij verloor uiteindelijk de finale in een toernooi waarin hij begon als Qualifier helaas kon hij deze vreselijke ziekte niet stoppen respect voor een vechter rust zacht vriend.
